The Dhaam Dhoom premiere show held at Sathyam Cinemas at 10:00 p.m. on August 28th was spectacular. The resplendent plush red interiors of Sathyam Cinemas provided a contrasting and attractive backdrop against which the fashionably-clad stars of Kollywood stood and chit chatted with each other. But the real show was waiting inside on the silver screen – late cinematographer-director Jeeva’s Dhaam Dhoom.
After the grand red carpet reception and a session of exchanging pleasantries, the elite guests savoured every single moment spent watching this delightful presentation. The eminent guest list included almost all the big names of Kollywood. Ameer, Subramania Siva, Gautham Menon, Jagannathan, Jayam Raja, and Madhesh were the directors who attended the show. Amongst the actors who attended the special premiere show were Jayam Ravi, Ponvannan, Lakshmi Rai, Simbu, Jiiva, Ramesh, Pasupathy, and Shaam. Actor Vijay was accompanied by his wife. Cinematographer Rajesh Yadav, Ayngaran Karunamoorthy, and G.V. Prakash were also present.
Actor Vijay is all set to become the hunter in his next movie Vettaikarran, which he is expected to star after the completion of his current movie Villu. The film is being produced by M. Balasubramanian and B.Gurunath Meiyappan.
This is the first time the actor is doing a movie under the AVM banner. The buzz is that actress Asin might be paired opposite Vijay in this movie.
It can be recalled that Vettaikaran is the title of the yesteryear superhit movie by M.G.R. Wishing Vijay all the success for this movie.
Asin, who is creating waves in Bollywood would act in the 50th movie of Vijay. It is said that the film would go to the floors soon, with a famous director wielding the megaphone for it.
Confirming this, Asin has said in an interview that she had been approached to act opposite Vijay again, as the pair’s earlier ventures ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Pokkiri’ became blockbusters. ‘I will take a positive decision soon,’ she said.
She also said that talks are on to share the screen space with Kamal Hassan, in a film to be directed by Bharat Bala. Meanwhile the actress is eagerly awaiting the release of her maiden Hindi venture ‘Ghajini’ in which she shares the screen with Aamir Khan.
The remake of the Tamil hit with the same title, the movie has generated a lot of hype in Bollywood. Aamir Khan too had expressed his admiration for Asin’s acting talents.
If Vijay is so successful at present, obviously the person behind him is none other than his father S.A.Chandrashekar who kept attempting for his son’s success directing him in 9 films that didn’t do well at box-office. However, extending his full support and encouraging him, today Vijay holds the title of ‘Naalaiya Superstar’. Vijay who has recently faced flops with continuously with Azhagiya Tamizh Magan and Kuruvi is expects a lot with his forthcoming film ‘Villu’ directed by Prabhu Deva. Soon after this release, he will join hands with debutant director Babu Sivan for AVM Productions. Babu Sivan is the dialogue writer for the film Kuruvi and his script really enthralled Vijay.
After getting done with all these flicks, Vijay’s 50th film will be directed by his father Director S.A.Chandrashekar. We convey the very best wishes for both father and son to come up with successful venture together.
Vijay’s movie Villu is almost nearing the end and according to director Prabhu Deva it will hit the theatres at the end of this year. Vijay’s next film will be under his father’s own banner the V.V creation.
The director, cast or even the title has not yet been conformed. A.V.M is looking for a director with a commercial value to give a good masala movie. Directors such as Perarasu or Hari are good at given masala movie but according to the buzz focus is on Vabu Sivan who has written dialogues for the movie Kuruvi.
Director Prabhu Deva and Vijay are putting in all their efforts to bring out Villu as mass entertainer. The director has in fact taken extra care where Vijay’s style in Villu is concerned. While in their earlier venture Pokkiri, Vijay was seen donning a scarf in the entire film, in Villu he will be seen nibbling his shirt collar. According to the director, this new style has reached well among Vijay fans.
Likewise, the name of Vijay’s character in Pokkiri was Thamizh and in Villu it will be Pugazh. Looks like with every new film with Vijay, Prabhu Deva plans to give a new dimension to his career.
Vijay’s son Sanjay keeps his favorite changing and sometimes drops his own dad from the list.
The small boy watch movies regularly, let it be Tamil or in other languages. Unlike Vijay’s fans, Sanjay never stick on to his dad as his favorite hero. If he does not like the movie of Vijay, he simply replaces his favorite with other heroes who have done a good job in their film.
Vijay is so sad about his son not being always his!
Kollywood’s grapevine is buzzing with news that Vijay is highly impressed with the script narrated to him by Babu, Dharani’s assistant director. We will have to wait and see if he will take up the project or not.
Recently, Vijay acted in Kuruvi, directed by Dharani and the film, with all the trade mark elements of a Vijay film, did well at box office. At present, the actor is busy filming Villu directed by Prabhu Deva. Expectations are high as Vijay and Prabhu Deva already produced a blockbuster together – Pokkiri.
Amidst his busy schedules, Vijay also did a cameo role in Pandhayam directed by his father S.A. Chandrasekhar.
