It was a eye contagious moment when Nayanthara received the prominent Matrubhoomi award (Best Actress) for E along with Ilayathalapathy Vijay (Best Actor) for Pokkiri and Prabhu Deva (Best Director).

Ilayathalapathy Vijay, glamour queen of south India Nayanthara, Malayalam Megastar`s Mammootty and Mohanlalon the same stage received the prominent Mathrubhumi film awards!.

`Mathrubhumi`, a leading Malayalam daily and one of the best known newspapers in the country, had from this year started an award for Tamil films. Nearly 37,000 peopleturned up at the open air Marine Drive in Kochi, to see mainly Vijay get the best actor and Nayanthara the best actress awards for Pokkiri and E respectively.
